Widgets

Graphic Widgets:

Year Clock:
My first homescreen widget for Android devices. An perpetual animated calendar that displays the current day of the year. The single red hand rotates around the clock once a year. Download it, it's free!

The Celt-ida-scope:
A kaliedascope for Celtic knots, with a built in export feature... Follow the link for details.
Trippy visions... No psychotropic substances required.

Pixlr:
This is an image processor I wrote in AS3. It was inspired by a CnC portrait I saw at the Maker Faire. You can use it to create your own lite-brite portraits and lots more. Check it out, it's fun!

Music Widgets:

The Scale Fisher:
My little MIDI scale player. This is based on my learning from the "guitar" program I wrote so long ago. Not as flashy but 10 times as useful. My first Python widget too!

Guitar Chord Illustrator:
My first adventure into hideous interfaces. This is also my 'hello world' program for coding flash. It may have some use for you, if you play guitar, but it is really kludgy. Were I to do it over again, I'd use bitmaps which would've moved a LOT faster...

Time Related Widgets:

Calendar:
A graphic perpetual calendar that I modeled from a cool keychain I found. It tells what day of the week any day will be, from Jan 2000 to Dec 2039.

Moon Phases:
Calculates the current phase of the moon. I am using a formula that counts synoptic days in seconds from 2003 Mar 3 2:37. (a full moon.)

Encryption Widgets:

Easy Encrypt:
I read Neal Stephenson's "Cryptonomicon" and developed an appreciation for obfuscation... Then I wrote this totally unsecure app for making stuff hard to read. Please don't confuse this with the real thing... For your amusement only. If you need something encrypted, Google 'blowfish' instead.

ASCII Converter:
Transform your words into Binary, Octal, or Hexadecimal... Whee...

ASCII to Beer:
No, I'm not gonna explain it. You just have to try it and see... sing with me...

ASCII to Image:
Imbed text into an image, just like the kids in "Along came a Spider" well, not exactly like that, more like the stupid flash equivilant, but you get the idea... Hide text in the image data of an EPS file. I wouldn't try it on large images tho... This is flash after all...

Totally Random Widgets:

PHI finder:
Look for and diagram the golden ratio on any jpg on the internet. FUN!

Juggle:
A ridiculous looking juggling widget I made for my friend Peter Adeney, before he shut down his website. He could do most of that stuff too, except for the impossible stuff. And then sometimes, he'd suprise ya.

ARC4 Simulator:
Peter Gransee made a flashlight, George Trudeau made a Javascript Simulator, I made this... It's a simulator for a flashlight that is REALLY COMPLICATED. So much in fact, that it needed a simulator. ARC has since gone out of business, but the simulator remains.

Update: Arc Flashlight is BACK in business!!! Go there and at least buy an ARC AAA, it's the most durable light I've ever seen. I have one on my keychain, and I've given them to many of my closest friends. I don't get kickbacks for this plug, I'm just an ARC fanboy, but if you see the product, you'll know why... By the way Peter, if you do ever read this and feel like throwing me some kickbacks, I can always use more AAA's .

Patterns:
If you think you may be prone to epilepsy... DON'T CLICK THIS!!!!
